Plans Underway for Lakeside High-Rise Hotel Near Disney

Project Details

Orlando-based luxury hotel project, titled MB Resort, is set to add a spectacular high-rise hotel near the beloved Walt Disney World Resort. The hotel will be constructed on a little over four acres at 13651 S. Apopka Vineland Road, majestically situated on the shore of Lake Bryan in unincorporated Orange County, just about a mile east of Disney Springs.

The envisioned hotel will rise 200 feet into the air, spanning a 19-story tower with 199 rooms designed to offer both comfort and luxury. The property will boast an array of amenities including a spa, gym, coworking space, arcade, restaurant, bar, rooftop facilities, and a pool area, catering to varying tastes and preferences of guests.

Entities Involved

The project is spearheaded by Mitch Collins, president of the Orlando-based Mitch Collins P.E. Inc., acting as the applicant on behalf of the landowner AA Central Florida Holdings LLC. AA Central Florida Holdings LLC is associated with Brian Susi, recognizing the site’s potential due to its proximity to key locations such as I-4 and Disney Springs. The Mexican real estate firm MB Signature Properties is also actively involved in bringing this grand vision to life.

Previous Plans

This is not the first time the site has been earmarked for development. Back in August 2020, plans were in motion to construct a restaurant and a hotel harboring 150-175 guest rooms on the same plot. Brian Susi had previously demonstrated confidence in the prime location, driven by its advantageous position adjacent to prominent areas and major routes.

Market Confidence

The announcement of MB Resort aligns with a monumental deal in Orlando’s hotel market – the $1.02 billion acquisition of the Hyatt Regency Orlando, marking the largest hotel sale in the country so far this year. Paul Sexton, managing director of HREC Orlando, remarked that such significant investments reflect profound confidence and optimism in Orlando’s hotel market. The involvement of institutional investors indicates a robust faith in the area’s continued growth and prosperity.

Additional Information

While executives from the involved entities were not immediately available for comment, the initiation of the MB Resort project signifies continued dynamic investment within Orlando’s thriving tourism market. The high-rise hotel is poised to become another shimmering jewel near Disney, attracting tourists and adding to the area’s vibrant hospitality landscape.
